Siebel Scholars Prepare for Annual Conference

The 2009 class of Siebel Scholars is preparing to attend their first visit to the annual Siebel Scholars conference, October 17-19. Each fall, current and alumni Siebel Scholars come together with university faculty and some of the world's most prestigious thought-leaders to discuss and debate global issues, developing innovative solutions to society's most pressing needs.

The 2008 Siebel Scholars Conference will focus on one of the most important challenges of our time-Water: The Next Global Crisis?. Hosted by Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management, the 2008 conference will bring together political, academic, and business leaders whose wisdom and expertise will lend insight into this most relevant issues.

The weekend long conference will take place October 17-19.

The 2009 Siebel Scholars from the University of Illinois are: Albert Lucius, Daniel Rebolledo Samper, Kumaresh Pattabiraman, Nathan Wesling, and Rajhans Samdani. They join an elite group chosen on the basis of outstanding academic performance and demonstrated qualities of leadership. Each receives a $25,000 award established by the Siebel Scholars Foundation to recognize the most talented students at the world's leading schools of business and computer science.

About the Siebel Scholars Foundation

Over the past eight years, the Siebel Scholars program has created a community of over 450 Scholars that fosters personal leadership, academic achievement, and the collaborative search for solutions to pressing societal problems. Siebel Scholars are key advisors to the Siebel Foundation, guiding the development of innovative programs the Foundation initiates.

The Siebel Scholars Foundation is funded by a grant from the Siebel Foundation. Established as a private foundation in 1996, the Siebel Foundation is a nonprofit, public benefit corporation. Its mission is to support projects and organizations that work to improve the quality of life, environment, and education of its community members.
