Understanding Students Behavior While Solving SQL Problems
Biography & Research Abstract
My name is Manasi Abhyankar and I am a rising sophomore at UIUC studying Computer Science. This summer, I am working on a project led by Professor Alawini titled "Understanding Students Behavior While Solving SQL Problems".
This project seeks to understand how students work towards the correct SQL submission. The questions we wanted to answer were - Which part of an incorrect submission do students tend to fix first? Do they tend to fix the small insignificant errors or the large glaring ones? Do they ever accidentaly come up with an almost correct answer and then change parts of the submission that are actually correct? If so, why?
