Joining the Illinois Ph.D. program
I am seeking strong graduate students to work on challenging problems in building, analyzing, and understanding networks and systems. I'm glad you're considering applying to Illinois!
If you are interested in joining my research group in the Ph.D. program, then you should:
- Apply to our Ph.D. program in the fall.
- Fill out the form with your interests. A pointer to this form should arrive via email after you submit the application. On that form, list "Systems and Networking" as one of your areas of interest, and list my name as one of the faculty you are interested in working with.
If you do those two things, your application will be given full consideration. You do not need to email me, although you can, if you have questions about my group's research. Please be aware of the following:
- Admissions decisions are made by the Admissions Committee, not by individual faculty.
- Unfortunately, I cannot provide an estimate of the probability that you will be offered admission. This would require information I don't have — that is, a complete application — and is a decision made by the committee. However, in general, important factors include strong research experience, strong recommendation letters, and high grades in courses.
I encourage you to apply and look forward to seeing your application!
